INTERLODGE

“Our core team is exceptionally strong and loyal; many crew members have been together since the inception of the programme.” ~ Austin & Gwen Fragoman

INTERLODGE are the crew of American husband and wife team owners Austin and Gwen Fragoman. The New York based international lawyer Austin has long since been a massive enthusiast of the class and has owned five different TP52s. The INTERLODGE team raced on the circuit around 2013-2015, finishing fifth overall in a hotly contested 2013 season.

After an injury curtailed Austin’s competitive sailing for a while the team have largely confined their activities to racing on their home, East coast USA waters out of Newport RI. Most recently they successfully campaigned Botin 44, which they continue to race in 2022 But when the opportunity arose late in 2020 to purchase the outstanding 2019 championship winning Azzurra, the Fragomens took the plunge and returned to race in Europe meeting back up with 52 SUPER SERIES owners and friends.

Austin and Gwen Fragoman, having purchased the 2018 Botin design, King Marine built Azzurra in 2021, continue to race in the 52 Super Series for 2023 and are very much looking forward to see the 52 Super Series fleet travel to Newport RI to race in two events hosted by their club, the New York Yacht Club.

They have an exceptionally strong, loyal core team which has been together for many years, some indeed since the inception of the programme. Trimmers include Dave Armitag, Jono Swain and Rod Dawson. Cameron Appleton did solid work as tactician in 2022 and is partnered with Adam Beashel this year while navigator is Ian Moore.
