The FOX team started sailing with the GL52 Fleet in June 2020, immediately following their boat’s launch. They are grateful to the fleet for providing a welcoming and competitive racing venue when others were not at the beginning of the pandemic.

FOX owner Victor Wild has enjoyed sailing, mainly at the helm— “to his fullest capacity” each day for the last 15 years. He added: “Sailing is an amazing sport that brings great individuals together from all over the world of different ages, skill sets and backgrounds. It has taken us to many beautiful venues around the world to compete against the best sailors and boats racing.”

This team enjoys the fun, competitive battles of buoy racing, as well as the distance races. Although they “prefer to sleep in their own beds at night”, they find an exciting challenge in competitive distance racing. The FOX team has achieved many wins against stiff competition. In addition to the great GL52 class comradery on shore, they appreciate the close competition on the water— where winning requires making the least mistakes around the course and the best luck.

The FOX Team is comprised of a great group of competitors and overall great people. Team culture is very important to this crew; who love to have sailors around who are kind and fun to engage with. Wild added: “We know that there are many amazing sailors who would love to come compete on any of our 52s; we just try to find the best fit.“ The 2024 crew is solid, though as with most boats in the fleet, they will have substitutes to accommodate the schedule conflicts of their “worldly” sailors.
